The highlight was definitely the Halong Bay cruise. It was my birthday, and the crew went all out. They upgraded my room and decked it out with birthday decorations in both the room and dining area.
Just a heads-up: ask about the different room types at the hotels because some rooms have no view and just face a wall.

We had never been on a tour before, but it was a wonderfully enjoyable vacation that exceeded our expectations. We chose a private tour for just the two of us that was precisely customized to our requirements. Special thanks to our guide Hannah, who took excellent care of us and is quite knowledgeable about Vietnamese history and culture.
The walk and sightseeing are magnificent, the bike ride is enjoyable, and the journey among the rice fields is a change of scenery.
