Morning
Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel around 07:30 and get picked up for the transfer to Ninh Binh. Have a short break along the way, enjoying the fresh air in the middle of the giant rice fields.
After arriving in Tam Coc, which is also called the “Halong Bay on land”, you will get on the small boat rowed by a local along the Ngo Dong River for about 2 hours.
This might be a memorable time to admire the breathtaking scenery of this Vietnamese jewel, including limestone mountains, rice fields, and temples along the way. Also, it is possible to witness the golden rice carpet along the river banks if you travel during the harvest season.
Get back to the mainland for lunch in a local restaurant.
Afternoon
After lunch and a short break, at 13:30, hop on a bicycle, go around the beautiful villages, and enjoy the fresh air in the rural area.
Travel to Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, the ancient capital city of Vietnam one thousand years ago, and learn more about Vietnamese history, which is fascinating and worth knowing.
Get back to Hanoi by bus and get ready for the night train.
Night
Around 20:00, you meet the tour guide at the hotel. You will be transferred to the Hanoi Train Station to have an overnight train to Lao Cai train station.
NOTE:
- The train departs around 22:00 and is a shared sleeping compartment (2 lower & 2 upper berths per compartment).
- Our tour guide will not accompany you during the train trip. The train schedule is subject to change. Private compartments on request at a surcharge.
- Train journeys are part of a great experience. Cabins are shared with other passengers (unless a private cabin is requested and all berths paid for - with supplement). Restrooms at either end of the carriages.

Hanoi and Mai Chau trip with Mr. Phuc was truly delightful.
Exploring Hanoi through a food tour was fantastic—we visited five different spots, each renowned for a specific Vietnamese dish like Bun cha, Banh mi, Pho ga tron, Kem xoi, and egg coffee.

Mai Chau: our guide introduced us to a wonderful local restaurant named Mau Chau Home, known for its authentic Vietnamese cuisine.
Ninh Binh: The boat tour was super relaxing. The landscapes was so stunning, we cannot stop taking so many pictures.
Sapa: We head to Sapa by train. The hotel in Sapa is quite small but cozy. We had a quite long trekking tour. We enjoyed the whole journey as we sightsee around.
Halong Bay: the cruise tour was so cool. We got to stay overnight on cruise. There was all service upon the cruise. Watch the sunset on cruise was a standout experience. Less

The scenic beauty of the rice terraces and lush mountains in Sapa was truly breathtaking. However, the trekking conditions were challenging, with steep trails and unpredictable weather.
Despite this, the tour offered valuable insights into Vietnam's culture, thanks to knowledgeable guides. Less

However, this year, we received an unexpected email inviting us back. Skeptical at first, since the company is based in Vietnam, we took the chance, and I'm so glad we did. Our agent, who prepared our itinerary, stayed in constant contact even during our tour. The guides and drivers were all professional and courteous, and the accommodations were excellent. The tours were tailored to our preferences, and we always felt safe and well taken care of. Highly recommended! Less

While most of the hotels were excellent, there were some issues worth mentioning. We wished we had more time there to indulge in food tours or independent exploration in Hanoi.
Sapa's natural beauty was breathtaking, but the persistent hawkers made the experience less enjoyable. Despite the warnings, their relentless persistence was off-putting, especially during meals or drinks at our homestay.
In Mai Chau, we loved exploring the town on our own, but the walking tour guide provided was disappointing.
The overnight cruise was good overall, the views of Halong Bay were stunning.
Despite these drawbacks, we're grateful for the overall experience and have already recommended Best Price to others. We look forward to booking with them again on our next trip to Vietnam. Less
