Two days on board the Heritage Line Ginger is a complete treat for us. This junk boat is cozy with not too many cabins, offering a tranquil getaway. The meals were definitely the highlights as we were amazed by the outstanding flavors, which is the focus theme of the cruise.

The design and decorations of the ship were special, with local arts, customs, and artifacts at every corner. Our Junior Suite was cozy, with an in-room lounge, a jacuzzi, and a beautiful private balcony. I really appreciated the jacuzzi on the top deck, which offered panoramic views of the majestic bay.

• Only 12 cabins so the room size is spacious, tip with a charming Vietnamese design and artistic decor.

Although this cruise lasted for two days, it was packed with exciting activities. Cycling through Viet Hai Village gets you close to nature while kayaking in the crystal-clear waters of Ao Ech is a nice way to exercise.

• Visiting Viet Hai Village on a 2-day schedule, which is pretty rare for a Lan Ha Bay cruise itinerary.
• Kayaking in Ao Ech was a fun and must-join experience to explore nature.
• Learning to prepare Vietnamese dishes in the open kitchen is interactive and memorable.

• The boat doesn’t operate 3-day tours, so not a nice option for those who want a longer stay.

As stated by the Heritage Line, Ginger was a culinary-themed cruise so the eating experience was great, every dish was a marvel, wonderfully presented. The open kitchen is a nice touch for dining time as I can watch the chef’s creativity.

• While the food aspect is amazing, the beverage side is pretty average in comparison.
