Sena Cruise is a cozy and boutique cruise with a cohesive traditional design for all 3 decks:

The 1st deck: From the entrance, there is the reception area, then the Lotus Restaurant and 06 Balcony Deluxe cabins.

The 2nd deck: Includes 08 Balcony Executive cabins and 02 Terrace Suites with a higher and better bay view than the 1st deck. There is also a library area for guests who like a peaceful place.

Both Deluxe and Executive Cabin can be used as connecting rooms, which is suitable for families. The Terrace Suite is suitable for small groups as it has 3 beds and a larger terrace than other cabins.

The Sundeck: Designed for traveler’s entertainment with the Moonlight Lounge, a bar, and a spa on half of the sundeck. The other half is a relaxing spot with many comfortable sunbeds to chill out.

For any avid reader, this floating library may be the most fantastic facility onboard. It’s on the 2nd deck, stuffed with various books, and magazines written in both Vietnamese and English.

This gorgeously decorated restaurant lies on the sundeck with a capacity of 40 people. Used for dinner, Moonlight Restaurant provides customers with an exceptional view of Lan Ha Bay at night under the sparkling roof.

The 2-day-1-night tour takes you to the pretty Dark & Bright Cave and Tra Bau in Lan Ha Bay. On the 3-day-2-night, passengers will have an extra day in Viet Hai Village.

NOTE:  At the end of the trip, you can ask for a tender boat to Cat Ba Island (extra fee).

On the morning of the last day, guests can take in the wonderful landscape of Lan Ha Bay for 1 hour on a kayak in Tra Bau.

You can also read books, squid fishing, or play board games on board. The cruise also offers services such as karaoke, honeymoon/birthday decoration, afternoon tea party, and in-room breakfast.

The overnight packages are provided with fabulous meals that serve Vietnamese food and international dishes; all are made by dexterous chefs. Except for buffet breakfast, lunches & dinners are set menu meals so every guest has the same portion.

Breakfast is usually at 7:00, Lunch is from 13:00, and Dinner is served from 19:00.

If you have any special requests regarding meals like diet or vegetarian, you must inform the cruise team before onboarding.

You can book a shuttle bus or private transfer to travel to the port (both with an extra fee, contact your travel assistant to book). 

From Hanoi Old Quarter

Daily pick-up time for guests is 8:00 - 8:30 for those who stay at the Old Quarter. For guests far from there, the pickup point should be near the Opera House, 01 Trang Tien Str.

From Tuan Chau Marina

Passengers who travel by themselves from Hanoi must show up at Lounge 25, Tuan Chau Harbor before 11:30 for check-in procedures before transferring to the cruise.

After an inspection trip lasting 2 days, I highly recommend Sena Cruise for mid-range travelers who want an authentic trip in Lan Ha Bay. This cruise has a unique design with classic wooden interiors, plus handmade bamboo and rattan decorations.

Cabins & Facilities: 9.4/10

The facilities of the cruise are still in good condition, the decor was gorgeous with many handmade products. My Deluxe Balcony Cabin was pretty and well-equipped. However, there are some dated facilities.

Pros

• Traditional-styled design with wooden base furniture creates a delicate ambiance.
• Gorgeously designed Moonlight restaurant with rattan lights, perfect for pictures.
• The cruise has a library, 1 indoor & 1 outdoor restaurant, which is rare for a 4-star cruise.
• All rooms have a private balcony and a nice layout, making the cabins bright and airy.

Spacious and Pretty Terrace Suite

• All cabins on board don’t have bathtubs, only standing showers.

Foods & Drinks: 9.3/10

The menu includes many Vietnamese and European foods. The quality is good but nothing was outstanding for me, except for the seafood. The drinks are also average.

Pros

• Especially great seafood and fresh local ingredients.
• Lunches and dinners so you don’t have to worry about the food running out like eating a buffet.
• Have a different vegetarian menu that can be changed as the customer requests.

Cons

• Only breakfast has a buffet so the options during lunch and dinner meals may be a bit limited for some guests.

Overall, the activities in the Sena Cruises were quite amusing. I especially liked the boat trip to Dark & Bright Cave as the scenery was so breathtaking. Overall, the activities were pleasant and suitable for many travelers.

Pros

• Spectacular bamboo boat trip to the stunning Dark & Bright Cave
• Interesting kayaking time in Tra Bau as you can freely immerse yourself in the pristine nature.
• Various services on board so you don’t get bored: karaoke, squid fishing, spa, library, bar, etc.

Cons

• The 2d1n tour is short and doesn't explore Lan Ha Bay much.

Services: 10/10

The service on the Sena Cruises is exceptional, with outstanding staff from the cruise manager to the regular crew. There is nothing to criticize about how this ship provides services to its passengers.

The tour guide is attentive and knowledgeable, and most employees are also highly informed about Halong Bay and Lan Ha Bay.
