One part of the trip I wouldn’t recommend is the Day 8 visit to the Karen Village to "watch or feed elephants". The boat ride there was actually one of our favorite parts — it was early in the morning, peaceful, and such a beautiful way to start the day. The walk through the village was also nice. But once we arrived at the elephant area, we were really disappointed. The elephants were chained by one back leg with very short chains, which felt incredibly wrong. I chose not to participate, but Brad threw them some bananas — unfortunately, his throw was too short, and the elephants couldn’t reach them. It was honestly a sad experience and felt completely out of place, especially compared to the wonderful elephant sanctuary we visited earlier in the trip. That part of the program definitely needs a second look.
Also, just a tip for anyone planning to visit Erawan Waterfalls: definitely bring water shoes. You’ll need comfy walking shoes for the hike, but water shoes are essential if you want to swim or explore the falls safely. I wore running shoes, which made it really slippery and hard to enjoy the water. I would’ve worn my Tevas if I had known!
Despite those few things, we had a fantastic trip and will always remember the warmth of the people and the beauty of the places we visited. Less

One of the absolute highlights was the elephant sanctuary — it was ethical, heartwarming, and unforgettable. We also had a lot of fun at the floating market — such a lively, colorful atmosphere.
The only downside of our whole trip was flying with VietJet. Every other airline we used was on time and hassle-free, but our experience with VietJet wasn’t great. If possible, we’d recommend avoiding them in the future. Less

Upon arrival, we were shocked to find that the hotel is more like a 2-star establishment than what we expected. The towels were in poor condition, and to make matters worse, the air conditioning in our room was not working. The bathroom was of very low quality, and there was no toilet paper when we first arrived, which is simply unacceptable.
We immediately requested a room change, but the staff informed us that the hotel was fully booked, leaving us with no choice but to stay in the uncomfortable room. As we were unable to sleep without proper air conditioning, this made our stay incredibly unpleasant.
We had hoped for a much better experience, especially after the fantastic accommodations and guides we had in Siem Reap. Unfortunately, this hotel did not meet any of our expectations. We are really hoping that the hotel in Bangkok will provide the quality and comfort we were promised when booking this trip.
Would not recommend this hotel based on our experience. Less

Hi Janet , just att our hotel , very disappointing, in avery ugly neighbourhood. If we want to go to the center of town we have to go by taxi or tuk tuk.
If you want to compare quality Homewood hotel as 10/10 this hotel 5/10.
