Monywa-Phowintaung Cave Full Day

In the morning, our driver pick up by road to Monywa, about 136 km to the west of Mandalay, a major center of trade and commerce for agricultural product from surrounding Chindwin Valley. Arrive Monywa, visit Mohnyin Thanmbuddhei Pagoda with over 500,000 images of Buddha decorating every wall, archway and niche. The buildings in the compound have interesting jataka reliefs and Giant Reclining Buddha at Bodhi Tahtaung (one thousand Bodi Tree) Shwezigon Pagoda, Laykyun Setkya Pagoda, and Phowintaung Cave where mural paintings cover the walls and ceilings of the cave, depicting the jataka reincarnation stories of the Buddha. In the afternoon, return back to Mandalay.
