How to travel from Can Tho, Mekong Delta to Phu Quoc

Mekong Delta is a large region with an area of around 40,000 square kilometers and comprises 12 provinces. So, it is difficult to give the exact number for the distance from the Mekong Delta to Phu Quoc. 

There are two ways to travel to Phu Quoc: Flight and waterway. Most of the tourists travel to Ha Tien, and Rach Gia to take a speedboat or ferry to Phu Quoc. The distance from Ha Tien to Phu Quoc is 75 kilometers, and it is 156 kilometers from Rach Gia. Depending on the kinds of ferries and boats, you will need from 1 hour 10 minutes to 3 hours to get to Phu Quoc on the waterway. 

Flights

To take flights to Phu Quoc from Mekong delta you can either choose a flight from Ho Chi Minh, Can Tho or Rach Gia.

From Ho Chi Minh city

Currently, three domestic airlines operate this flight from Ho Chi Minh to Phu Quoc including Vietjet Air (6 flights/day), Vietnam Airlines (5 flights/day), and Bamboo airline (2 flights/day). The average fare for this route is about 500,000 - 1,200,000 VND/way. However, if you book tickets price can be increased if you do not book early in advance.

Flight time from Saigon to Phu Quoc is only 55 minutes. The two cities are 383 km apart. Please note that you should be at the domestic terminal, Tan Son Nhat airport at least 60 minutes before the flight time on weekdays, and at least 120 minutes before the Tet holidays.

From Can Tho

Vietnam Airlines and Bamboo Airways are two airlines operating direct flights from Can Tho to Phu Quoc at the moment, with a frequency of 1-2 flights/day.

Flight of Vietnam Airlines departs from Can Tho at 11:45 am and lands at Phu Quoc airport at 12:40 pm, with a total flight time of 55 minutes. The Bamboo Airways flight has a flight time of 1 hour and 5 minutes, departs at 14:55 and arrives in Phu Quoc at 16:00.

From Rach Gia

Rach Gia - Phu Quoc flight route is only operated by Vietnam Airlines, the national airline with a frequency of 1 flight/day. The flight departs from Rach Gia airport and lands at Phu Quoc airport. Flight time is 40 minutes. 

Ferry

Speedboat
