Cannon Fort
Cannon Fort, also known as Point 177, is a famous landmark in Cat Ba, the beautiful island of Vietnam. It was established in 2010 and has attracted many tourists ever since. This historical site is located on a hill, consisting of large cannons and a system of underground tunnels built in the 40s of the 20th century. How to get there
The distance between Hanoi city and Cat Ba is 160 kilometers. To travel between the two destinations, tourists have to get to Hai Phong first, via train, bus, or private transfer. Depending on your chosen means of transport, this journey will take from 2.5 to 3.5 hours.
From there, speedboats and ferries are ready to take you to Cat Ba Island for 3$ to 9$. If you are coming from Halong Bay, you can take the ferry or speedboat from Tuan Chau Port to Gia Luan Port, which will take about one hour.
From Cat Ba Town, it takes 10 minutes to get to the entrance gate of Cannon Fort. Then, to get to the top of the hill, you can hike for 20-30 minutes or ride a motorbike. The paths are not challenging for tourists, and you can enjoy the scenery along the way.
