Kata Noi Beach
Kata Noi is one of the most beautiful little bays along the west coast of Phuket as well as the best beaches on the island. It offers peaceful sense and primitive beauty so it is definitely home to some of most luxurious resorts and restaurants in Phuket.
On the hillside road behind the beach, you can find some of the best sunset – view bars available with stunning views out to the horizon and over the sand, which you can enjoy with a refreshing drink and a tasty dinner.
Kata Noi Beach
Kata Noi is situated just south of Kata Beach. Keep going straight after the The Boathouse in Kata Beach and the road will eventually veer to the left. Remember not to take the sharp rise turn to the left but keep straight and the road will pass the Katathani Phuket Beach Resort. The sea of Kata Noi Beach is so inviting and clear, providing peaceful swimming during the peak season months between November and April. While the rest of the bay is virtually rock-free, meaning there is nothing to stub your toe on while you are taking a dip, the rocky headlands at either end of the bay make for good places to go snorkeling. During the low season, from May to October, Kata Noi Beach is becoming quite a popular spot for surfers.
Snorkeling in Kata Noi Beach
Banana boat is popular, everyone loves being towed through the water by a speedboat, clinging on tightly to the inflatable trying to be the only person that does not fall off.
At times, many queue for parasailing and to jet ski. Hobie cats and kayaks can be rented by hour, a great way to see Kata Noi's beauty from afar. Lifejackets should be worn for all watersports with necessary care taken at all times especially when jetskiing. The rocks at the beach’s southern end offer lots of colorful fish; excellent snorkeling and exquisitely beautiful corals. Equipment can be purchased or rented easily.
Kata Noi Beach
On the occasional stormy days during May to October, surfers flock to Kata Noi to ride the waves, it is a spectacle worth seeing. Here, the good waves are sometimes off the northern headland and can be quite fast, but good at times. The right - hander main wave breaks near the northern headland. Winds are southeasterly to northeasterly with waves up to two meters. There are no public toilets however there are many sets of facilities in the hotel which most people use without any problems. From December to April the sea is calm and lake - like even. From May to October, care and riding the larger waves should be taken, especially if red flags are being set.
The following is everything you need to know about Kata Noi to have a great stay in this fantastic part of Phuket: There are some local restaurants with reasonably priced Thai dishes and international favorites on the left side of the road when you enter Kata Noi. Additionally, the sunbed vendors serve all kinds of snacks including pizza if you are lucky.

Hi Guys I am coming to Phuket in May 2023 (I am from Cape Town, South Africa) and I enjoy long distance open water swimming ..... Just want to know if its possible (or allowed) to swim across Kata Noi Bay ?? Bit nervous of boats and Jet Skis etc. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks Les.
Hi! It isn't really safe to swim too far from the beach. There are red flag (or something to mark a water border) to warn tourists not to swim far from that. Life guards are available and usually, they won't allow tourists to swim across the line. There are boat tours and Jet Skis services there, you can try but it's quite expensive.
