Maiton Island
Maiton Island (known as Ko Mai Ton by local people) is located about nine kilometers off the Southeast Coast of Phuket, about 15 minutes by speedboat. It is a small island with only 2.6 km across at its widest point, but it has a large and quiet beach and a green hill as a backdrop. The island is known as the honeymoon island as many new married couples choose this island for honeymoon time.

The island is still untouched by tourism, the white sandy beaches are soft, pristine, full of stunning washed-up corals and seashells, the natural environment is not disturbed by mass tourism. There are a small hotel and a few bungalows on the island. You can stay overnight or enjoy lunch, drink, or massage at the hotel if you take a day trip.

There are not too many things to do on this island. You can take a day trip from Phuket here, have a swim, relax, explore the island or go for snorkeling to see sea turtles, cuttlefish, and many tropical sea lives. The best time for snorkeling in Maiton island is from December to May when the sea around Maiton is crystal clear like a blue mirror.

There are two ways to get to Maiton: Speedboat & catamaran. Tourists with a short traveling time, choose speedboat to save their time, but people who are not in a hurry prefer catamaran. If you are lucky enough, you will see dolphins on the way to the island. Even though there are seasons for dolphins, they are common in Maiton island.
