My Tho

Cai Be floating market is the junction of three provinces: Tien Giang, Ben Tre, and Vinh Long. Cai Be is also one of the three biggest wholesale markets in the Southwest region, along with Cai Rang and Nga Bay floating markets, so Cai Be floating market is always full of seafood to household appliances, drinks, etc.

Rach Gam - Xoai Mut relic: Located in Dong hamlet, Kim Son commune (Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province) on Tien river bank, about 12km to My Tho city to the West. With a total area of over 2 hectares, the monument consists of Nguyen Hue statue, a display house (No. 1 and No. 2), and an ancient Southern house. The monument was recognized as a national monument in 1993.

Cu Lao Thoi Son: From My Tho city, just about 15 minutes floating on Tien river, tourists will come to Thoi Son islet eco-tourism area. It will be an unforgettable memory to tourists when floating on the zigzag ditches under the rows of nipa palm and willow in the bith riversides, or walking on the green, cool fruit orchards; trying special fruits and Southern dishes, etc.

Weather

My Tho has a tropical monsoon climate, which is of the equatorial tropic in nature, so the temperature is high all year round and is divided into two distinct seasons: dry and rainy seasons. The rainy season is from May to November and the dry season is from December to April. You can come to My Tho to travel at any time of the year because My Tho always has its different specialities at different times.

Culture

One of the activities not to be missed when traveling to My Tho is discovering and enjoying the cuisine of this land. There are a lot of delicious and famous dishes in My Tho including My Tho noodles, Cho Bong rice cakes, rice noodles, etc. Besides that, My Tho also has many dishes such as banana cake with coconut, Cho Gao grilled meat, Tan Phong snail, “Va” cakes, and some other dishes also attract a lot of domestic and foreign tourists to try.

TRANSPORTATION

By public transport: You can catch a bus from the Western bus station and Thong Nhat company. Or you can buy a tour of My Tho from a local travel agency.

By motorbike: From Saigon to My Tho about 70km, you can go there by motorbike. The distance is not too far and is enough for you to arrange yourself for a short trip. From Saigon, there are two directions to Tien Giang, one is from Phu Lam roundabout and from Trung Luong highway. Depending on the starting position, you can choose either direction.

If you come to My Tho in the rainy season, remember to bring rain gear such as umbrellas, raincoats, etc.
