Panak Island
Panak is located southwest of Koh Hong in Phang Nga Province. This island is famous for its incredible stalactites, caves, and lagoons. It is also home to some monkeys that can swim and catch crabs. The island was formed long ago, originally from sedimentary layers on the bottom of a tropical ocean. There is no volcanic activity involved in the island formation, so the rock is soft and the limestone and minerals can ooze over time. The scenery around the island is wonderful, the cliffs and stalactites are beautiful.
Beautiful Panak island
A typical excursion on Koh Panak would include visiting the caves. The caves have been created by the flow of the tide. Some caves around the island are reachable by kayaking or canoeing. Khang Khao Cave, Ic Cream Cave, and Gong Gang Cave are among the most popular caves for kayaking to explore. Some caves have higher entrances than the water level, so you need to climb up. Most of them have both an entrance and an exit tunnel. You can even see some mangrove trees inside the cave, small waterfalls in layers. Some caves are pretty narrow.
