Truc Lam Zen Monastery
Truc Lam Zen Monastery in Da Lat is one of the three largest monasteries in Vietnam. Located on Phung Hoang mountain which is 5 km away from the city center, Truc Lam Zen Monastery lays in the middle of the pine forest, next to the romantic Tuyen Lam lake. This is such an extremely beautiful location attracting lots of both local and foreign tourists every year.
The monastery was built in 1993 and completed in 1994. Truc Lam Zen Monastery is divided into four main areas based on primary functions of each. Truc Lam Monastery is located on Phuong Hoang Mountain so visitors must pass around 140 stone steps and go through 3 gateways to enter the main hall. The main hall has an area of 192m2 being in the middle of the temple. There has the special statue of Thich Ca Buddha is 2m high with the lotus in the right hand. Moreover, surrounding the main hall are many elaborate bas-relief sculptures. Outside the main hall, there is a bell carved with reliefs that also are sophisticated and beautiful.

After visiting inside Truc Lam Zen Monastery, visitors can visit Tuyen Lam Lake - a clear, tranquil and famous lake of Da Lat. The landscape is so romantic plus peaceful and surrounded by green pine trees, which will surely surprise tourists form the first sight.
Also, tourists can sighsee a natural garden in monastery to enjoy watching flowers. The flower garden has many beautiful, strange flowers which were taken from different places in the world. They blooms all year round, giving the Zen Monastery a colorful scenery.
Truc Lam Zen Monastery
There are two main ways to reach there, visitors can go by motorbike or car/bus to Truc Lam Zen Monastery on land and then continue coming up to top or going by cable car. Going to Truc Lam by cable car is quite interesting because visitors can enjoy a beautiful and majestic view of Da Lat from above while sitting on the cabin.
